Travel through history to find today's treasures! Ride the Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad through the "Valley That Changed the World," where evidence of the world's first oil boom can still be seen. And find geocaches along the way! The train will run through the entire length of beautiful Oil Creek State Park, where riders will have the opportunity to spend a couple hours eating lunch and searching for geocaches.

The GeoTrain departs at 9:30 a.m. and returns at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013, and the excursion includes lunch, a train ride, and a trackable geocoin! Boarding will be at Perry Street Station, 409 S. Perry Street, Titusville, PA 16354.

FAQs

Will there be new caches? Yes, we are working on some new permanent caches! Their coordinates won't be available until the day of the event, but we'll provide sheets to all attendees.

Can babies ride free? Yes! All "babes in arms" 3 years of age or younger can ride free.

Do drive-in attendees also get a coin and/or lunch? Only if they've pre-registered for the drive-in lunch deal. But if there are coins left over, they will be available for sale to anyone who comes to the event.

Souvenirs and extra geocoins will be available. Vendors will be on-site at Petroleum Center, where lunch will be served. Games and geocaching-related activities will take place at Petroleum Center.

Prices:

  • $45 per person (train ride, lunch, geocoin)
  • $65 per person - same as above but first class Wabash Cannonball car (no pets)
  • $160 per family (train ride, lunch, geocoin)
  • $5 per geodog (leashes required)
  • $25 - drive in - no train ride but lunch and geocoin (must pre-register)
